Adverse Drug Reaction Cases in the Global Repository®
We have isolated DNA from specific individuals who demonstrated ADRs, based on information from each CRF, for use in toxicgenomic analysis. There is no certainty that they are drug-specific ADRs; however, the ADRs are known to be associated with the indicated drugs, which were taken by the individuals prior to, or concurrent with the apparent ADR.
Elevated Liver Enzymes
- 7+ individuals receiving a statin drug
- Multiple individuals receiving Troglitazone and Rofecoxib
- 20+ indiviidual cases and suspect drugs
Edema
- 150+ individuals receiving sulfonamides
- 30+ individuals receiving Rofecoxib, 10+ receiving Celecoxib
- Multiple individuals receiving Statins, Glitazones, Vaccines, Antimicrobials, NSAIDs and Steroids
Our specimen population changes constantly, as we add some and others are depleted. We also have limited numbers of specimens from other types of ADR cases (e.g., skin rash).
The RTS Thurnall Automated DNA Storage and Retrieval System can pick and return over 2000 DNA samples in an 8 hour shift.
Unique HIV Specimens
SeraCare has assembled a library from unique populations of HIV patients:
- HIV Candidate Evaluation Panel consists of well-characterized, viable virus isolated from 20 different individuals, and encompasses all major subtypes used to infect cells for in-vitro assessment of anti-HIV activity of candidate compounds.
- Blood specimens from 60+ HIV-positive individuals receiving atazanvir, idinavir, lopinavir, or nelfinavir, accompanied by CRF information for each.
- Isolates of drug-resistant HIV mutations and non-infective HIV.
