Can You Really Earn Extra Money Donating Plasma If You Have Lupus?
Several of our blog readers who have notified me of their interest in our studies have made it known that it is relatively unknown to the Lupus community that Lupus researchers need their help, and that they are willing to pay for that help. I work with an organization that connects people with diseases such as Lupus to studies needing their help.
There is now a major shortage of participants for these studies, so I felt compelled to communicate to my readers that they need to search out these studies to help!
What's more, you can find a variety of studies that pay as much as $400 for every hour that you participate, sometimes even more.
The company I work for is SeraCare Life Sciences, with offices in Milford, MA, Fredrick, and Gaithersburg Maryland. We are able to connect people in all 50 states and worldwide with studies conducted by a variety of research organizations.
To find researchers conducting studies near you, go here.
Some extra facts about these studies:
Many of them don’t require you take medications or anything like that. Many just require a blood sample or plasma donation to be taken.
Plasma is the part of your blood that holds various kinds of proteins, including antibodies. These antibodies are much needed for drug and vaccine research.
Why is my donation so important and so special? Your recent diagnosis may mean your white blood cells are producing disease related antibodies that are carried in your plasma.
These antibodies are studied by researchers for clues about how disease works.
Antibody research has contributed to development of treatments for multiple sclerosis, cancer, HIV, rheumatoid arthritis, Lupus, and many other crippling illnesses.
There is a severe shortage of this plasma, and researchers need help.
You can donate plasma up to twice per week in most cases, and each donation may qualify for a payment.
Mileage expenses may also be reimbursed.
For those of us who suffer from Lupus and the financial ruin it can bring, this could make a real difference.
For Scientist who are seeking better treatments, understanding, and ultimately a cure, this could make a real difference as well.
